The perfect introduction to Bali’s fascinating culture and handicrafts, picturesque rice fields, traditional villages and a spectacular lake and volcano.
Our first stop is the stone carving village of Batubulan to see the colorful and exciting Barong & Kris Dance. This dance tells of the eternal fight between good and evil and is an epic from the Mahabrata story.
After the performance we leave for Kintamani; travel from the palm-fringed shores of the lowlands to the towering mountains of the north, encompassing a cross-section of the entire island of Bali. We visit the Village of Mas, famous for wood carvings and watch the workers enfolding the intricate designs from the many varieties of woods and also the Village of Celuk renowned for its Csilvercrafts
A visit will also be made to the Elephant Caves (Goa Gajah) a complex built in the 11th century.
On arrival at Kintamani, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Batur with ribbons of black lava running down from the peak into the valley below. The crater is holy and a sanctuary at the top is dedicated to the fertility Goddess. Lake Batur lies serene and shimmering against the backdrop of the mountains. A beautiful opportunity for photographs. The return journey brings us to the temple and holy springs at Sebatu.
